About Me…

I’ve spent most of my adult life working in the Health and Social Care sector, having roles as a Health Care Assistant, Support Worker for adults with learning disabilities and latterly for people living with dementia.

I’d always dreamt of becoming a complementary therapist but didn’t believe that I would be able to as I doubted my ability to learn and had no confidence in myself.

Finally, I took the plunge and attended a one-day Emm Tech training course to learn a wee bit more about Emmett Technique (a therapy I’d heard of but didn’t know much about). It literally blew my mind so I decided to sign up for Practitioner training and qualified as an Emmett Practitioner in 2020.

Thanks to an amazing teacher, this made me realise that I did actually have the ability to learn and decided to seek out further training courses.

In 2021 I began training with The Complementary Therapy School, the UK’s only private training provider that offers a SCQF Level 8 Qualification, credit rated by Edinburgh Napier University. Firstly, completing the Swedish Massage Therapy course along with Anatomy and Physiology, followed by Clinical Reflexology, gaining my Diploma in Complementary Therapies certificate with Distinction in 2023.

I am a full member of both the Association of Reflexologists and the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
